Le Gamine
This illustration was inspired by my favorite French film, Amélie and my love of a good side eye. I used watercolor and charcoal pencil to bring a soft edge to the portrait.

Angela Merkel
I painted this portrait in August 2017 when I was working at Tiffany & Co. as a PR writer. I’m not sure what inspired me to draw Merkel, the social unrest of the times or her houndstooth patterned jacket.

Bella
I fell in love with this little fashion brand in Milan called, AH/OK. This illustration is based on a photograph of a model wearing this silk kimono. The brand no longer exists, the kimono is in my closet.

Brooklyn
I moved to Ft. Greene, Brooklyn in 1995, at the height of hip hop and where Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule film works were housed in an old fire station. This portrait is a little slice of life off Flatbush and Dekalb Avenues.
